Our philosophy at Guesshaus is deeply rooted in the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA) Illustrated Breed Standard. We envision each dog embodying these traits: superior conformation, remarkable intelligence, efficient gait, innate herding ability, and an unwavering willingness to work. We prioritize a biddable temperament that allows for effective training and retention of lessons. We also favor rich pigmentation, dark eyes, and a classic 1960s-style conformation, reminiscent of what put these herding dogs in the top of America's favorite breeds.

Service & Support: Our dogs actively work in multiple mobility service programs and serve as dedicated PTSD companions. We also have a puppy currently undergoing professional training to calm and assist a non-verbal autistic child in communicating their needs.

Working & Performance: True to their heritage, our dogs work tirelessly on ranches as capable herding dogs. They also excel in the competitive ring, bringing home wins as conformation show dogs and earning performance titles in Obedience, FastCAT, and Rally.

Temperament & Utility A true German Shepherd must possess remarkable intelligence, innate herding ability, and an unwavering willingness to work. We specifically breed for a highly biddable temperament—dogs that are eager to engage, highly receptive to training, and capable of retaining lifelong lessons.
The Classic Look Visually, we favor the timeless aesthetic that originally propelled these working dogs to the top of America's favorite breeds.
